+ pick your top twenty movies of all time or at the moment. i'm just going to keep updating this with my favorites.
    + post their movie posters.

I'm going to use this as a rec post of sorts. The following films have my stamp of approval, and I recommend them to everyone.

Great choices!
I agree with almost everyone!
Crash was such a beautiful movie, I really loved it.

Thanks! ♥ And I know, Crash was gorgeous. And I adore the film poster. That moment had me bawling my eyes out, I must admit.

I love 99.9% of these movies (sorry, not a big fan of Crash or Million Dollar Baby, lol), and The Prestige, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Fight Club are some of my all-time favorites too!

And wow, that Children of Men poster... that movie was so powerful and the poster definitely fits. It made me shiver a little.

Crash and Million Dollar Baby are among my top favorites, lmao. You suck. But YAY on the agreed films! At least your taste in films isn't entirely problematic. ;)

That Children of Men poster gave me chills, too. That film and its poster are amazing and scare the crap out of me when I think hard enough.

I like Crash, I just don't think it's like epically amazing. And Million Dollar Baby I think I have to give another try, because I watched it on a plane or something I think.

It's okay, you don't have to explain yourself lol. But yeah, give Million Dollar Baby another try! If you don't like it the second time, then you can really say you don't like it. ;)

Eeeexcellent choices. I was bummed I had to keep it at 20, because I wanted to have a few of these in my picks (of those that weren't already in my lot).

Yeah, I went over 20. I definitely couldn't keep it to just that. I've seen so many films that it's impossible to narrow it down like that!

Great choices! I agree with Crash - amazing movie. So emotional. The Dark Knight is also a great pick. One of the best movies in a long time. And Iron Man, too... I'm a big fan of superhero movies.

There's a lot of those I haven't seen, though. I'm just not a huge movie fan.

Not a huge movie fan? What does that mean? :p Films are such a huge part of my life (which isn't as sad as it sounds, I swear). There's something so beautiful about them. A good enough film is a piece of art, I believe. ANYWAY, you should definitely check out all of the films in this list if you ever feel like watching something and don't know what.

Haha I love movies, but for me, TV > movies. I love that you get to invest in characters and their stories over time. With a movie, it takes a long commitment (sometimes 2-3 hours!) and then the characters are gone. That's just not as appealing to me I guess haha.

I've thought about that, and I definitely agree with you (to some degree). I love that I can get to know layers of characters over time, and really feel like I know them, when watching television shows. Films, though, are like an entirely separate art. It's like comparing, say, an oil painting to a sculpture. How can you do it? Films are more based on telling a story, rather than telling a character's story, if that makes sense. Films are more concerned with creating an impact on the viewer, making them think about something. The good ones, at least.

It's nice to see that someone else loved Crash, I see a lot of hate for that film, especially on ONTD. Also Se7en is one of the best films..EVER.

I don't understand the hate for Crash -- it's such an amazing film. I think a lot of the hate is mostly "internet hate" -- that is, I think it's more scarce in the Real World than we're think. I mean, it did win Best Picture, right? shrug.

And yes, Se7en IS one of the best films ever. (!)

omg I know, that movie is pretty much amazing. I just bought it on DVD, and am going to rewatch it with my sister, who hasn't seen it yet. I love watching my favorite movies with people who haven't seen them yet, to see their reactions. But yeah. I first "had" to watch this film in my junior psych class. It's pretty much the best thing that's happened to me in school, lol.

Same here! I love to see their reactions, but it makes me nervous most of the time, lol. I still remember taking my dad to see ABM at the theatre (it was my second time) and him falling asleep half way through. I got so frustrated that he didn't see the brilliance of the movie that I saw. LOL. I would have loved to watch it in a pysch class! since I'm pretty much obsessed with movies about mental illness.
